FC Porto vs Juventus
UEFA Champions League
Date: Wednesday, 17 February 2021
Kick-Off at 20.00 UK
Venue: Estadio Do Dragao, Porto.

Porto will try and continue their fine home form in this term of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday evening when they play host to Juventus at Estadio Do Dragao.

The most successful Italian team comes into the tie as a favourite, but Cristiano Ronaldo & company will have to dig deep to secure a positive result ahead of the reverse fixture in Turin.

The Portuguese champions have been almost impeccable on the home court in the group phase of the Champions League. They did not concede a single goal in three home outings, despite playing the likes of Manchester City in the process (a goalless draw). Sergio Conceicao’s men easily won the other two home fixtures against Olympiacos (2-0) and Marseille (3-0).

However, they will be up against a much tougher opposition and the stakes are much higher now. Will the hosts be able to keep things quiet at the back against the Italian powerhouse?

Porto vs Juventus Head-to-head

It’s been four years since these two sides last met each other. Interestingly, it was also the last 16 round of the Champions League.

Juventus advanced 3-0 on aggregate. They won the first leg in Porto 0-2 before confirming the overall victory with a 1-0 home success in the rematch.

The two teams also played each other in the group stage of the 2001/02 Champions League campaign when Juventus claimed four points from two meetings with Porto.

Porto vs Juventus Prediction

La Vecchia Signora significantly halted their push for the title by losing 1-0 to Napoli on Saturday evening. They thus snapped a three-game winning run in the domestic league.

Andrea Pirlo has reasons to be worried ahead of the trip to Estadio Do Dragao knowing that his men have failed to find the back of the net in any of the last two competitive outings. They played a goalless draw at home to Inter (still advanced to the Coppa Italia final, though) before falling 1-0 at Napoli.

Looking at Porto’s results and the home form in the group stage of the elite continental competition, we have to see the value in backing the Under 2.5 goals FT pick at the odds of 1.66.

We will also back Porto not to lose at the 1.72 odds.
