England welcome their old rivals Germany to Wembley Stadium for their final clash in Group A3 of the Nations League, and both sides will be desperate to finish the international break with three points.

The Three Lions will be playing purely for pride this evening, as their relegation from League A of the competition was confirmed after their 1-0 defeat to Italy on Friday.

It has been a seriously disappointing showing from Gareth Southgate’s men in this year’s competition and pressure is cranking up on the 52 year-old.

He has failed to lead his side to a single win in their last 5 games, and they have only managed to score one goal in this time too.

Whilst Germany cannot top the Group and go through to the finals with three points this evening, they can go above Italy and into second place, providing the Azzurri don’t beat Hungary who are at the top of the pile after 5 games.

The two nations will be disappointed with their displays this calendar year, but both England and Germany will be fully concentrated on putting in a good performance this evening, in order to give them a bit of confidence ahead of the World Cup in two months’ time.
