Leicester vs Chelsea Prematch Briefing as Lampard confirms Kante Out and Vardy Injury is Unclear

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard today confirmed that N’golo Kanté will miss Tuesday’s Premier League game against Leicester City. Speaking ahead of the clash, against the foxes, Lampard also confirms Christensen’s availability for selection for the match.
N’golo Kanté missed Chelsea’s win over Fulham last weekend and the blues were hoping to have him back for the important clash against Leicester but the manager broke the news that N’golo Kanté hasn’t recovered from his hamstring injury. When asked about the team news, he said “Christensen is available, N’golo isn’t. It’s a bit too soon for his hamstring injury. Those are the only two.”
Lampard also confirmed that Fikayo Tomori would likely be going on loan but declined to say whether there would be an obligation to buy. Concerning Tomori, he said, “Fikayo is a developing player. We can’t play all our centre backs in one game. This year we have 5, the predicament is difficult. He wants to play regularly and that’s why he may go out on loan”.
In other news, Leicester City boss Brendan Rogers was unclear as to whether Jamie Vardy would be available for the game after going off injured in their last game. According to him, he “hoped” that Vardy would be available for the game his hip was “obviously sore and restrictive”.
So the good news for Chelsea is that they have a fully fit squad, bar one player. The bad news is that the one player happens to be N’golo Kanté. It means that Frank Lampard is likely to start Billy Gilmour or Jorginho in that defensive midfield role against Leicester City. Whoever he goes for, he will be hoping that the blues get a second win in a row.
