Michael Owen Predictions for Today's EPL Fixtures

Manchester United will be closing the gap on Manchester City while Chelsea will move closer to Liverpool if Michael Owen’s Premier League prediction for this weekend happens exactly like he said.

According to Michael Owen, both Liverpool and Manchester City will be dropping points when they clash on Sunday as he predicts their match will end in a 1-1 draw.

This of course gives room to Manchester United to close the gap on league leaders Manchester City and Chelsea to close the gap on fourth placed Liverpool.

Manchester United vs Everton.

Manchester United returned to winning ways spectacularly after beating Southampton a record 9-0, and Michael Owen sees the Red Devils continuing in that form even though Everton are playing well at the moment.

Giving his reasons for predicting a 2-1 win for United, Michael Owen said: “Everton have won their last four on the road, however, this will be their hardest test since that run began. United seem full of confidence just now.

“They are undefeated in 13 of their last 14 matches against Everton in all competitions and I think they’ll just edge this one in what should be an entertaining match.”

Sheffield United vs Chelsea

Chelsea will be playing against a somewhat rejuvenated Sheffield United side on Sunday but Owen who also predicted this fixture expects Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea to have too much for them.

Chelsea may be in a more comfortable league position than their opponent for this game, but the Blues just like them have also struggled. However, since Tuchel took over, the Blues have improved picking up 2 wins and a draw and Michael Owen is backing that form to continue despite Sheffield being in their best run of form this season.

Predicting a 2-0 win in favour of Chelsea, Michael Owen said: “United have been impressive in recent weeks, however, Chelsea are growing in confidence and I think Tuchel may be the man to unlock the potential of fellow countryman Timo Werner. I reckon the German could notch here in an away win.”
