EPL: Todd Boehly plots shock Sadio Mane transfer swoop after Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea order

According to the report from, Chelsea are plotting a summer transfer swoop for Bayern Munich star Sadio Mane.

The Blues are expected to appoint Mauricio Pochettino as their new head coach with the Argentine ordering Todd Boehly to pursue a deal for the former Liverpool star.

london understands Chelsea have held positive talks with Pochettino but no agreement has been reached as of yet. Todd Bohely is set to make a final decision on the club’s new head coach this week with an announcement set to follow in due course.

Mane spent six years at Anfield and is considered to be a Liverpool icon after winning every club trophy possible with the Merseyside outfit. The Senegal international left Liverpool to join Bayern last summer but things have not gone to plan for the 31-year-old, especially after a recent bust-up with his team-mate Leroy Sane following their Champions League quarter-final first-leg defeat against Manchester City.

The German giants are open to selling Mane after he has scored just 12 goals and provided five assists in 36 appearances in his debut season. It is unclear as to whether the Senegalese forward would be open to a return to a Premier League rival of Liverpool given his affiliation with Jurgen Klopp’s side – but Pochettino is said to have ordered the Blues to pursue a deal for Mane.

The 51-year-old remains in talks to become Chelsea’s next head coach ahead of the summer transfer window and he has already set a series of demands. Reports have suggested Bayern are open to cashing in on Mane and a bid of £30million could be enough to seal a deal.

Pochettino wants to sign a new goalkeeper, central midfielder and striker if he is appointed as manager of the Blues. Mane has played as a No.9 before and his versatility could be a key asset for Chelsea next season if they can agree a deal with the player and Bayern.

Pochettino left Southampton four months prior to Mane arriving at St. Mary’s Stadium in 2014, but the pair could finally work together next season at Stamford Bridge.
