Staff exodus continues

Chelsea medical chief Paco Biosca has left the Blues, according to the Telegraph. The Spaniard has spent 11 years at Stamford Bridge, but has reportedly become the latest staff member to leave the club.

The report states that Biosca’s departure has come as a ‘shock’ to the players at Chelsea, many of whom have worked with him for a lengthy period. First-team doctor Dimitrios Kalogiannidis will take over temporarily until a permanent replacement is found. However, no official announcement from the club is expected at this stage.

The fact Todd Boehly and co sent Wesley Fofana to America for his medical, rather that him completing it through the club’s own medical team, was seen a strange call – and perhaps highlights why Biosca has departed.

Mount’s World Cup dream

Mason Mount has revealed he would love to play in the World Cup final at the Estadio do Dragao in Porto.

Remember that? About a year and a half ago, Chelsea won their second Champions League in that exact stadium. Mount himself got that famous assist for Kai Havertz’s winning goal.

In less than two months, Mount should be representing England in this year’s FIFA World Cup. That is, of course, if he is selected in Gareth Southgate’s squad.

Mount has been answering some questions about the upcoming World Cup while on Nations League duty with England. One of the questions put to him was the stadium he’d most like to play a World Cup final at.
