Big loss for Chelsea as Timo Werner completed RB Leipzig return

A very big loss for Chelsea as Timo Werner completes his return to RB Leipzig for a second spell according to a report from England.

The 26-year-old Germany international moves to Stamford Bridge on 18 June 2020 for a £47.5 million release clause on a five-year contract after the Blues beat Liverpool to his signature and it was viewed as a serious coup at the time.

Warner has struggled to hit top form in Premier League as he did in Bundesliga where he 78 goals from 127 games and current manager Thomas Tuchel is not convinced by his fellow countryman during this pre-season that he should command a regular starting spot.

German football expert, Florian Plettenberg said via his Twitter handle that Warner will reunites with former Bundesliga side for a fee in the region of £25.3m-£29.5m ‘plus bonus payments but the Blues will still incur a loss of around £18m despite having three year left on his Chelsea contract.

Werner banged in 23 goals and creates 21 assists in his 89 appearances for Chelsea as the German will be hopping to make his reunion debut against Cologne on Saturday.
